Family Is the Thing
Originally The Young and the Restless began its TV run with two feuding families, the Brooks and the Fosters. If they don’t sound familiar, don’t worry as they were both written out of the show years ago. But that dynamic of families scheming against each other has stayed ever since. In fact, two characters —Jill Abbott and Katherine Chancellor— feuded for almost the entire run of the show up until actor Jeanne Cooper (Jill Abbott) passed away in 2013. The families also feud within themselves with constant backstabbing and in-fighting. These traditions continue today.
- Jack was certain that Billy has been hacking into the Jabot server. Phyllis has been adamant that he hasn’t So she sets a bit of a trap and Billy walked straight into it. Now, Phyllis has a choice to make: She can turn Billy in, red-handed, or she can use this to her advantage. We’re betting that this storyline will draw out a little further with Phyllis pushing her knowledge and blackmailing Billy for a period before they both get caught and she throws Billy under the bus.
- Ashley found out the secret of Graham’s parentage. It’s only a matter of time before she warns Dina. Look for Graham’s secret to be revealed and when that happens, he doesn’t have much to lose so things might get a little crazy.
- Tessa’s life has settled down a little since her sister was rescued from a sex trafficking ring. So now she can move in with Noah and live happily ever after, right? Well, except for the fact that Tessa and Noah’s half-sister, Mariah shared a kiss that isn’t easily forgotten. While we think this is going to be an issue when it appears and make no mistake, Noah will find out about it eventually.
- Nick decided to try and take Victor head on which is a mistake. We’re talking Victor Newman here, and while we’re not sure exactly how this storyline will end, we are sure of one thing: Victor might up taking a few hits but at the end of the day, he is going to be standing tall.
The Never-Ending Saga
The great thing about soap operas is that they continue with many twists and turns but with familiar circumstances. There may be differences between The Young and the Restless today and the show of days gone by, but for fans of the show and The Young and the Restless cast, there is plenty of ways that lying, cheating, backstabbing, and feuding will go down for years to come.
